Default Max NOS on a 1991 5.0L Stock Bottom End

Recently purchased a 1980 Mustang LX w/ a stock bottom end. The car came w/ a NOS sniper system set to a 150 hp shot. I am interested in stepping this up, but want to remain within safe limits.

Have no idea on the exact number of miles on the bottom in but the engine is fitted w/ a Victor Jr manifold, Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Heads, Holley 750 Double Pump Carb.

All advice/help will be greatly appreciated.

with the right amount of fuel you can get almost 500hp out of a stock 302 bottom end

it would depend what year shortblock it is 89/92 had forged pistons they take a good bit of nitrous without knowing if you have forged pistons i would not go over 150 yes it can yake 500hp but with a very good tune and correct ci not from 302 with just 300 horse nitrous.

The shortblock is a 1991 and according to the previous owner has forged pistons.

I know that forged pistons readily handle nitrous, I was just wondering from the experience/knowledge of others what a safe max NOS amount should I subject a factory shortblock to even w/ the forged pistons?

That top end sounds like a 300hp engine at least and the 150hp nitrous would put it out at around 450.
Before adding any more HP i'd get a nitrous progressive controler, 150hp suddenly hitting the pistons forged or not can be too much for stock internals.
My dad's friend had the same issue, he didnt listen to us and he ended up with rods hangin down the sides of the block and we with a very nice 65 Falcon for about 800dls, lol.

there is really not a "safe" amount you can spray.....

it is all in the tune......

with that being said with a 150 shot generally speaking you are about at the limits of the stock block....

the internals will hold up , where the concern is the cylinder wall pressure created by the use of n2o....

which will result in block failure occuring in the lifter valley....
