Question supercharger

Any one have experience with centrigal and positive (roots) blowers? I want to add one to my '01 Stang and I have read many views from the manufacturers, but would like to hear some personal viewpoints.

From what I've read the 2001-02 dont like the blowers too much because of the higher compression the romeo blocks have over the older blocks.A centrifugal blower can make WAY more power than a postive displacement although the roots type have a much flatter power band and achieve full boost almost instantly opposed to the centrifugals.

The 01-02s should be able to handle boost. The Cobras do, and they run 9.9:1 compression.
I would advise getting an ATI procharger, as they've got an intercooler with them that will help prevent detonation.

Check out AED "allenengine.com" they make a great roots system. I have one on my '98 GT and never had any problems. Their kits include EVERYTHING! My car runs great all the time, and still get 22-26 on the highway. The best part is how it pulls hard from a stop right to the red line. Where do you live you can? If your close you can check it out before parting with the bucks. *** Jim ***

My brother has a 2K GT running 12psi with a Vortech + Bullit intake + custom chip + Full Bassani exhaust + JBA Headers + Oil Cooler.
Makes around 460+ HP

Not one problem with it, zero detonation.

The trick here is FUEL, low backpressure and keeping temps cool.
