Default kenne bell boost a pump?

My brother has a 2000 Mustang GT with a 4.6 bored .020 maybe .030 over. blower cams, ported PI heads, procharger was pumpin 9 #s but we changed the pulley so now i think its pushing 12-14 psi now. 42 pound injectors 255lph pump. He was told he needs a boost a pump before he gets it tuned? is this true or will the 255 lph do it? he had 420 rwhp with 9psi boost, stock cams and stock pi heads. what rwhp will this be approximately?

420 rhp on only 9lbs I did not make that much on a 11 lbs. He will need a Bap for sure. I got lean spikes when geting mine tuned on just a svt focus pump. added a bap and all was good.

i do not belive the SVT pump will be able to hold that much power. someone i know running a procharger at only 380 rwhp starts running very lean at 5500 rpm with the SVT 255lph. and thats only on 8 pounds. adding the boost a pump is your best and safest bet.

The BAP is not going to get you much more than that on the 255lph. I think mine pegged out about 480rwhp. Of course you are about at the MAX duty cycle of your 42lb'ers.

What size pulley is he using on the ProCharger??? And what Model?? P1-SC, D1-SC, F1????
You said he had blower cams and ported PI heads at the beginning and stock parts at the bottom of your post. I would say with the fuel delivery you are going to peg out around 470-490. If you have a excellent tune.

i put he had stock parts and made 420 hp(with race gas) i think he made like 380rwhp wit 93 octane. now he has the cams and ported heads. but he has the p1sc. im not sure about the size of the pulley. i just know its smaller. supposedly going to be good for 12-14 psi. i think. but thanks for the input guys. hes just about got enough miles on it the get it re-tuned. guess we will wire in the BAP in the next couple weeks. and i might add our tuner is the $h!t with moddular power. I'll keep you guys posted on what it lays down.

He's going to need bigger inejctors for sure, also he's getting to the range where an SVT dual pump setup may be the best way to go.

Additionally, he's going to peg his OE MAF very soon, either a MAFia or Lightning MAF or something of that sort will be needed.

Keep in mind that the head porting will reduce the amount of absolute boost he sees on a gage, however, he will be pushing massive amounts of air through the motor so an absolute number is not as important as Air/Fuel ratio and power numbers achieved.

I got 60's (Black ones) on mine. I had to go with a whole different fuel setup. You are going to eventually going to change the fuel rails at least... Heard talk of some guys taking a Cobra gas tank and putting twin gt 40 pumps in it to get around the fuel end.
BlueStreak03 hit it on the head. I went from stock PI heads, P1SC, blowing about 12psi to a good set of CNC ported heads and a D1SC, a smaller pulley and can barley blow 12psi at the big end... No Restriction. No Boost numbers.
