Default 1991 Mustang lx superchager bypass/starting help

New here and to cars also, I got a 1991 mustang lx last week from a moving friend and was wondering how hard it is to bypass the supercharger. I plan on putting a new one in later but for now just want to get the car running. The supercharger was removed about 2 years ago but never driven without it , the car has sat for about 2 years since the supercharger was sent to the shop but it never got fixed ,can someone please post steps to bypass the s/c or lead me to something helpful, also it hasnt been started in 2 year and im betting it wont start. I didnt want to try starting it without a new s/c in or with it set up to run with out it but what are things i can start lookin for to increase the chances of it starting when i do get it set up right thanks for any help in advance

the basic things to look at that you probably know of are the oil, and fuel. i would change the oil, drain the gas and put some fresh gas in it. might also want to consider giving it a tune up...plugs, wire, cap rotor and air filter. i dont know about the super charger. you may not have to drain the fuel either..did your friend put any kind of fuel stabilizer in it? on the other hand, i dont know how long that stuff is good for, so i would just drain it. that way when you start it up you know you can eliminate all these items if it starts running rough or you have problems.

What brand of supercharger is it ?

Depending on the brand, it may have an oil feed line that will have to be disconnected and plugged, or else you're going to lose alot of oil when you start it up.

The oil return line will also need to be capped off at the oil pan.

As for bypassing the blower, you'll need to somehow plumb a pipe between the air filter/mass air and the throttle body.

After you address those issues, it should run fine without the blower.

If it's a Vortech, then all of the items in my first post apply:

1)Oil supply line will need to be capped at the T fitting near the oil gauge sender on the driver side of the motor.

2)Oil return line will need to be capped at the oil pan on the passenger side of the motor.

3)Fab up a new intake elbow to connect the mass air meter to the throttle body.

After that you should be good to go.

Nice enough today to go outside and try to find the oil lines you said I had some trouble but its my first real car ive worked on so im just learning, but what i found was on the passenger side up in the front there was a hose that had white tap on it, im guessing it was taped to idenity it for the super charger. The hose went down to the lower part of the engine so i think this is one of the oil lines you said to plug im guessing oil return? On the driver side there was a red line/hose with a bolt thing on it and it connects right by the oil filter im guessing this is the oil supply line?
http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/w...0316091622.jpg
thats what the one end looks like are theses the right hoses and what/how should i plug them?
how should i go about connecting the air mass and the throttle body
this is what im looking at http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/w...316091432b.jpg
do i just have to connect the two pipes that are right on top of each other on the left in the picture?? thanks for any help
real newb here

RE: Your pic showing the bolt in the end of the hose: that will not work very well, as the hose can only mate to a male compression fitting of the same design.

So I would suggest removing the hose from the driver side of the engine. You will find it connected to a pipe coming out of the side of the engine above the oil filter. On that pipe will be the oil pressure sensor, and the fitting for the oil feed hose. I would remove the fitting that the hose is connected to, then I would get a proper 1/8" NPT plug fitting to go in the hole.

As for the oil drain hose: I would remove the hose from the fiiting on the oil pan, and get a 1/2" cap for the fitting on the oil pan.

The air intake has to have a connection between the mass air meter and the throttle body. (it should look similar to a stock setup with a CAI)

You could connect the two pipes in the fender together, as it looks as though your car is equipped with an intercooler, and this would simply bypass the blower.

or

You could connect the lower, larger pipe in the fender, directly to the throttle fody on the intake, thereby bypassing the intercooler too.
