i want to put vortech v1 on my 1991 lx which has a stock bottom end. Has anybody done that?

keep the boost low and you will be ok

how much is considered low boost v1 claims 10 psi??

just make sure you got a good tune in it.

You will be fine with the entry level kit. Even 12-14psi is fine, just make sure the tune is good and have fun. We have run 18+psi on a stock short block with out a problem in the past.

your stock bottom end has forged pistons so if it had reg oil change your in good shape i would put 10 pounds without intercooler 12-14 with intercooler and r meth.i run 10 on a v1 stock 95 shortblock(forged pistons)and a 50 shot of nitrous no broken parts yet.(just #5piston from to much timing,no tune or retard device.now i have fuel 1+1 increase with boost and a box i can pull 1-3 degrees timing per pound of boost.either get a fmu(i know yall pro tuners dont like them but they do work)or just set fuel pressure around 60 themn under boost you will still have fuel if you have a 255 forcen induction intake pump and have fun.im burning chips for sc set up
