Cool Nitrous question

Thinking about getting a kit and I was wondering first which brand Zex or Nitrous express, also do I need new cams to go with the kit, or anything else I might need I only plan on doing b/a 75-100 shot. Any advise out there?

Pressure guage, blow down tubes, Colder plugs for anything over 75 shot. Black conduit for a clean install. Fire jacket if going to the track. No cams are not necessary. If you have cams you need a bigger fuel pump.

I just installed the Nitrous Express 3V kit. Looks at my pics of the final install. Most other companies use parts from China. Nitrous Express is American made. You will pay more for Nitrous Express...but the quality can't be beat.

I'm running the 100 shot. All I did was install a Nitrous friendly tune from VMP Tuning and Autolite HT0's with the stock gap.

If you're running a stick, you will need a window switch. Also you will need a bottle heater as well.

Good luck. I love N20. This is the 1st car I have ever run Nitrous.

I have a Zex kit with a window switch. I love it.......

You will need a nitrous tune. I would suggest to throw it on a dyno......

well for the sake of saftey i would take some timing out and 1 step colder on the plugs....

I recommend retarding the timing 4 degrees for every 100hp of nitrous (1 degree per 25hp). This is a safe setting. But it's not necessarily the best one

Now you have 6 replies.....

my car has a 150 shot and i have 10 degrees out on it.. for safety, but if ur only gunna us a 75 shot take at least 5 degrees out and only put 91 octane gas in it...and id get a good fuel pump also, and most important make sure ur fuel pressure is right for ur ntrous shot..if u dont have enough fuel for the nitrous it will melt!!..colder plugs are a must no matter what kind of shot.. if u have nitrous get colder plugs. a window switch is very usefull to make it turn off if u happen to miss a gear.and in my opinion i think NX is a great kit i havent had any problem with silinoid sticking nething.. but keep up on ur tune and check ur plugs after a few nitrous pases.. and have funn... nitrous is great!! and expensive!!
