#1 Intercooling allows you to run more timing due to the cooler IATs or you could run more boost to make more power.
#2 octane boosters don't do much if anything and really are a waste of money.
#3 Vortech has good customer service. Have you ever dealt with them? I have and they have been nothing but helpful. And idk where you get your facts about rebuilds but Vortechs are some of the most durable blowers out there. I spun my SC-Trim was past there "safe" impeller rpms and when they upgraded the wheel to the Si-Trim the bearing were fine.
#4 Any time you add boost to a motor you need to make fuel and tuning upgrades.
Look at the warranty between Vortech and KB. Vortech has a 3yr warranty where as KB has a limited 1 year warranty.
I would take a Vortech any day over a KB. They create to high of IATs and you can not intercool them so they are limited. I have goine over this a few times in the past if you search under my name you will see what I have said and this all comes form experence not just internet hearsay.
Good Luck with whatever you choose and let me know if you have any questions.
