Default turbo to small?

hey guys i have a 89 5.0 5 speed lx. this probably wont happen but im just curious if it would work. i was going to turbo my last car before i crashed it so now i have a turbo laying around. it is out of a saab 9-5. could it be put on my 5.0 and create some power? i know its small but does that matter? or would it just not even do anything for the car. thanks

im no tech. but any forced induction helps but its a matter of whether your willing to pay for the work thats going to need to be done to custom fab a tubing system and exhaust for minor? If nothing else you can run with this and then you wouldnt have to buy a full kit to go with a larger turbo later.

the turbo it self will become a large restriction and it will kill top end and mid range power. Turbos are not like S/C they are very dependent on matching the engine they are gone on. if they are to small they just don't work well. and if they are to big it takes forever to reach boost thresh hold. I would not waste your time doing this. now if you got 2 you will be on to something

Yea, that turbo is going to be to small I think that motor is like a 2.4 or something like that. But there is nothing wrong with your idea just the wrong turbo. I would try to find something bigger like a t3/t4 or like the turbo that came off of the grand nationals or something like that.
