Default Zex Nitrous kit on stock 2000 gt auto

I have a 2000 auto, gt vert. It is stock as a rock. Not even a CAI or filter. Just weld on flowmasters. I installed the zex kit with the 100hp jets I also changed my plugs to the NGK TR6's, gapped to .035. No timing retard. just sprayed it. My friend told me that my 100 shot was more like a 75 to the wheels. So I go out and raced a Mach1 and got killed. I just don't think it should have been that bad, but it was horrible. What is going on? I know with more mods I will be faster. I have the CAI and catted x-pipe. They will be going on tomorrow, but is this suppose to happen? Also it didn't feel like it was pulling timing. It seems like it took the shot just fine. Is this just my fate. Please help!!!!!

My suggestion would be to take it to a dyno and get it tuned. If you did not pull timing, you are risking failure at a 100 shot......

WISE WORDS MY FRIEND. Without a proper tune you are asking for problems. As far as getting beat that bad, depends on the mach, but a 100 shot should be enough for you to give the mach a decent run, but without a proper tune you have no idea what benefit the spray is actually doing.

I have noticed with the ZEX system that you don't get a full 100 with thier 100 shot.

You really need the tune!

I understand that there was no tune and everything, but will the tune pull more power out of the setup. How can the Mach1 beat up on me that bad when I'm spraying a 100shot with that much timing although i am on the path to destroying my motor like everyone has mentioned before, and I am well aware of that. Still my car is slow...why? Is the gap for the plugs right? Also is the bottle pressure high enough?

What is your bottle pressure? It should be around 950 - 1100 psi
(Myths of Nitrous Oxide)

Yes, you will pull more out of your car with a GOOD tune.
What has been done to the Mach? What year is it? You need to know if you are comparing apples to oranges.
You also have to remember it is hard for a SOHC to run with the DOHC on a stock basis.
This is one way to do it...

My bottle pressure was a hair under 900psi like 890 something like that. The mach1 was an 04 5spd with an intake, xpipe and weldon flowmasters.

Without a tune you are showing up to a gun fight with a knife.

check my add... This is one way I addressed that/this problem.

Thanks for the info on the NO2 it was a good read. I was hoping for more info, but it seems like everyone wants to tell me to get a tune, and I understand that. But after I go get this tune done and get spanked again by the same Mach1 and SRT Caliber. O yea forgot to mention the SRT4 Caliber with a Stage1 computer and a map clamp. What's next . I just don't think a tune is going to make that much of a difference. Now I have an x-pipe and a BBK CAI that gave me no noticeable horse power gains either. I'm new to the Ford world. I use to drive a 2000 Z28 and I just don't know what wakes these cars up. And I don't want put 4 grand into a supercharger just to keep up with an LS1 car. I had 4 grand to put into a car I would just go get another ls1 that ready to run off the lot. Please help me!!!

The tune is going to save your car... I'm thinking you can't see what's going on in your engine. Trust us... get the tune. It will really open it up. I promise.

Tune will help but you did set everything up right? Nozzle location is key. Is this a dry kit? 100% sure you put the right pills in and in the right location? How many miles on your car? Auto can hurt rwhp numbers due to more drivetrain loss, the tune will firm those shifts up and i would recommend some rear gears. like mentioned, zex is more at the crank HP not the the wheels. NX is more to the wheels.
Oh when do you hit the shot at rpms and what gear and finish in what gear?

I checked and rechecked the pills and went with the 125 shot. I'm going to get the tune always was going to just didn't understand why I was so slow to begin with. I also plan on going with a 3.90 gear is that going to be too much. It is an auto car.
