Default Nitrous feed line.

alright n2o elite I am feeding my n2o line through the drain plug in my trunk on the passenger side. My issue is that no matter how I try to route the line its really close to my exhaust pipe ,possibly less than a 1/16 of an inch, where the pipe comes over the axles. So my question to you fine gentlemen is how safe is it to have the line at its current location? approximately how hot does the exhaust pipes get? because the Teflon line itself can hold up to about 600 degrees but I'm wondering how the nitrous inside the line will react. thanks!

Default Nitrous Line

If it's the back or rear section it doesn;t get that hot although I wouldn;t worry much about the nitrous it will be fine, if anything the nitrous line will heating maintaing better pressure in the line. I found it easier to router the nitrous line in the car on the drivers side under neath the door seals and up though the trunk behind the plastic pieces it comes out of the hole by the pedals.

yea that way would be nice but if I want to run it at the track it has to be underneath the car. Thanks for the info man.

really? I was under the impression that the line had to be under the car, well either way I already have it all routed and it only comes real close at that one instance. If you guys say it should be fine than I am going to leave it the way it is. Thanks for all your help much appreciated.

NHRA Rules..

If using nitrous oxide system: All bottles must be securely mounted, stamped with minimum DOT 1800 lb. rating and identified as nitrous oxide. If bottle is in driver's compartment, it must be equipped with a relief valve vented outside of driver's compartment. System must be commercially available and installed per manufacturer's recommendation.

Your nitrous kit should have came with a steel braided line.
Run it on the outside of your car. I would look for a different route if it was that close, but, as stated above, the heat is low enough at the end of the pipe you should be OK.
No idea on what car you are running this on... Can you not snake the line through the frame right in that area or attach it directly to the frame?

Remember... Safety first, fun second. "Live to Play Another Day"
