Default Looking to go Turboed.

My friend is selling me a Kinectic T04e Turbo kit. Will this fit on my 1990 LX? Assuming it does what else would I have to buy to not destroy my engine?

If you keep the boost down around 4-6pounds you shouldn't have to worry about any big motor upgrades depending on how many miles are on the car... If your motor is strong and willing to be forced into action, then a turbo should not be a problem. Do not go above 8 or even 10 psi with a stock motor unless you plan on a rotating assembly that is at least 5140 forged...maybe even H beam rods, I don't like the I beams much. Just keep the boost level kinda low and the motor will breath easy.

Ok thanks and my buddy bought this turbo for a vr6 Volkswagon Corrado...think there will be any issues with it bolting up to my 5.0?

I also wanted to boost higher than 4-6 pounds. Would I need to upgrade my pistons and rods? and how much would I be looking at for that?

What boost are you wanting? I seriously have no idea on the fitment of the kit...

If you are wanting serious boost that will shoot suit over the hood of the person behind you, then you may be better off getting a bottom end kit or even a small stroker kit. You can get a good, strong reliable kit for under 1000 dollars.

Ok, I bought it. I have a 60 trim turbo, wastegate, Blow off valve, all the gauges and oil lines, nuts, bolts and everything. From what I know now all I need is a downpipe and a different set of headers. Do I need to get a new intake manifold? I'm searching all over online and can't seem to find exactly what I need. Thanks in advance for any pointers or advice
