I have a 93 5.0 that's mostly stock, it has gt40 intake and heads,MSD ign., headers and H Pipe set up. It is also a stock automatic trans ;(
I have a single fogger wet kit (shark nozzle) that I would like to add to my new toy.
I have read a bunch of threads and keep seeing that 100 shot on stock block is no problem right? I found the thread on jet sizes, I have a adj. fuel pressure regulator, and a traction control system from ZEX so I can adjust when it starts and stops the spray.
Anyone tell me when I should start the spray (rpm) ?
and when I should cut it?
Also what should I look out for when using a wet kit on this mustang?
100 shot is great and you should be fine on a stock block for sure. You have a 93 stang so you should have forged pistons and that is a plus when using nitrous so you r good there. You may want to look into getting a timing retard box so when you hit the nitrous it retards your timing so you do not pop your block instead of driving around with your timing retarded. You should be around at least 2500 RPM's before hitting your nitro but others may have other opinion on that. You don't cut it until your finished with your run or race or whenever you feel like it There is several different ways you can accutate your nitrous, You can use a switch on your throttle so when you floor it will start your spray or you can put a push button to start it on your steering wheel or your shifter knob etc. You can buy shifters with the button built in, this way you can hit it whenever you want. You should have 1 degree cooler plugs in your car and DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT use platinum plugs. They can get hot and the electrode will fall off in your cylinder. I am sure I am leaving something out but I will leave the unanswered questions to others here.

A small correction 93 is the first year for the hypereutectic pistons
but you will be safe with a 100 shot if you stay on top of your tune.....

Ok, so far so good. Thanks for the info.
In regards to the timing during the 100 shot run, how much timing should I pull out, how many degree's? I have a timing gun and the little wrench to adjust the MSD. It's currently at 14* which seems to keep her smooth on the street.I bumped it up a little when I took it to the track in search of a little more power but I keep it at 14.
I have a ZEX traction control system so I can pick what gears spray what RPM. It is an ATX so I wont be doing the shifting manually. I want to set the rpm cutoff on the nitrous around 200-300 rpm before the shift point but I dont know what rpm the ATX's shift at during WOT to set it.
Also I am using a ZEX TPS switch so it will only spray the nitrous when in WOT and with the traction control system turned on. Kind of a double safety thing for me That way the odds of it spraying during a shift change and puddling are much lower.
Speaking of shift change, should a install a shift kit? Is it worth it? If so which one?
Whats the biggest shot I can go up to if I switch out the ZEX TCS for a progressive controller?? The one I am looking at right now has 5 mapping points for the curve and separate maps for every gear.

I figured its a unit that can adapt to the vehicle's changes over the next few months, grow with the car kinda. I already have ZEX traction control unit so I can use that for a while. I just like to error on the side of caution and it has a lot of safety features available.
I appreciate the honesty btw
so now the last question I need answered before I start spraying is:
What rpm does the trans shift at?
I need a number so I can set the cut off on the spray so as not to spray through a gear change. The ZEX unit will detect the voltage drop during the shift but again on the side of caution I would like to also cut the spray right before the shift. The ZEX unit is quick enough to start spraying the next gear right away so the beginning number isn't much of a concern as long as its above 2500.
Also, in regards to my other thread about the breather and PCV filter, THANKS SO MUCH to anyone that helped me over there. it doesn't smoke barely at all now in high rpms and runs much smoother. Now its track worthy.
