Hey guys, I have NOS Cheater Nitrous Kit for my 302. The motor was built to run on nitrous so the bottom end is all forged steel. It has 10.5:1 compression and I was told it would go 7.01 in the 1/8th on the bottle with a 150 shot. I got the car to go 8.34 the other night on just the motor. I'd like to get her in the 7's and work my way down to the 7 flat range. My question to you guys though is what all do I need to do to have the car setup for the bottle. The car has a demon 650 carb on it with 63 jets in both front and back. If ya need any other info just ask. Thanks guys, Hambo
LoL the lil smileys are funny. I have the nitrous kit installed on the car right now and the 8.3 was with slicks on it. Also the kit says its 150 to 250. Is there any way that I could put like 75 hp jets in it since it says 150 to 250? As far as the engine itself it has forged pistons 10.5:1, Edlebrock air gap intake, and the stock cast heads that have been ported.

Thanks, gonna make a run to the speed shop in a lil while to pick up the jets and hopefully head out to the the track and mess around with it Thursday night.
I bought the 150 -275hp Big Shot for my 302 fuel injected and they(HOLLEY) told me that the kit wasnt meant for that and that it would lean some of the cylinders out if i used any smaller than a 150 jet...thats why it says 150-275+
Prolly different for carbed tho hu?
Suggestion: Give NOS a call before trying any jetting changes that's outside the power range of the kit. Solenoid pressure affects nitrous/fuel jetting ratios and can give unpredictable results. For instance, my 400 hp+ shot is based on 100 octane racing fuel. Converting to E85 required changing to a 600 hp alky sonlenoid, which according to NOS/Holley puts me in no-mans land from their perspective. What I will be doing is starting with a very rich fuel jetting ratio, and adjusting in small increments. Even though my motor was built to be bullet proof above 800+ hp, doesn't mean its grenade proof.

you make a very good point .....
but isn't you jetting base on the altitude where you are......
that will also play major tricks with the nitrous setup.....

Its a street/strip car with 4.10 gears. I have the older heads on the car, the ones with the big plugs and the coldest autolite plug I could get was a 45. Will that be cold enough for a 100 shot?
