most people who have turbo lag problems is because they have to big of a turbo on a street bound car the hybrid t3/t4 spool pretty fast. almost no lag if u have the proper stall convertor in ur automatic car you will not notice any and if you have a stick car its all in the foot work...turbos r free horsepower also cuz they run off the exhaust superchargers are belt drivin and therefore take horsepower to make horsepower

excuse me if this has already been mentioned(didn't feel like reading a 6 year long thread lol...impresive by the way) but given the chance I would love to run a roots on my car. Had a t-bird s/c loved it. However, name me someone who makes a roots blower for a windsor based engine and i'm sold. since there isn't to my knowledge wouldn't you much rather have a cartech sleeper turbo system with minimum of 400hp rather than a s-trim or whatever with a %49 increase puts around 322hp for us 5.0 sn95 guys. plus turbo's just sound better. and in my opinion anything that can put junk rice in the running and often ahead of v8's should be able to prove most beneficial. so then all the little whiner rice beotches can say when you smoke them is...well you have 4 extra cyl's. and i say, exactly, that's your problem. ANYhow I'm rambling. sure i could go with modular and get my roots blower, but i like displacement hehe...GO TURBOs

Well, the difference between a turbo charger and a supercharger is that the turbo provides more power at higher speeds because it's not using the engine's power to drive itself while the supercharger gives immediate power for acceleration. So the turbo = better speed while the super charger = faster acceleration. I think both of these forced induction systems are efficient depending on what you need. When I drive in the future though, I plan to get a supercharger because of its immediate power and I can't go past 90 MPH where I live. Just depends what you need really.

Default Turbo vs sc

Off the line its all about the drivers experiance, but on the highway at a 50mph roll there is a little jump ahead ruffly a car length from a supercharged cobra, but no for more than 3 sec a turbocobra will creep and keep pullin till it blows the doors off a supercharged cobra!! and thats a fact, you can watch it on youtube, i my self am having a pretty hard time deciding on which path i want to go, but supercharger is more of an instenious power boost but limited vs the turbocharger with a little lag but it makes it up with its superior power in boost, and for thoes whom made the remarks that if turbos are so good? then why factorys dont install them? that is BS, when the S7 salleen Supercar first cam out it was supercharged and now its later models are replaced with twin turbo!!!! why? i tell you why, because simply for reliability issues, the car was not successfull in the 24hour Leman race , superchargers can take alot less of a beating than a turbo, plus you have belt issues coming off and breaking during long periods of time, less total boost, and robing your motor from its horsepower to get more horsepower now that just doesnt make sence to me? The ford GT is also headind the same path.

We can all debate this forever (or 6 years of posting), but i think it just comes down to personal opinion. I love superchargers because i want immediate off the line, 0-60 type speed. Plus i love the way it sounds.
