How hard would it be to install my own supercharger?
As I've said before...I got way more time than money. I am pretty good with instructions. I know how to run a torque wrench. And I'm not completely stupid when it comes to mechanics.
Is installing a supercharger too complicated for your average Joe to install himself(and maybe some help from a friend with more knowledge)?? If I can save myself $1000.oo by doing it myself, I'd like to. What are your opinions on this?
Its not like I'm voiding any warranty. This blower is gonna void the warranty on the motor...The blower itself should still have warranty, thats about it.

My girlfriend calls it a waste of money, but I see it as saving money(and time away from her) if I install it myself
Holy crap dude!! Thats a lot of work. For some reason I think the roush might be a tiny bit easier cuz the air filter still sits in the same spot basically. But Its still gonna be a lot of work too. Might be better off to pay to have it done. Although it is nice when you can say you did it yourself and get the experience and know it was done right(hopefully). I sometimes have trust issues when it comes to taking my car somewhere to get something done.

As you can see the biggest problem is not the install but getting it all to work. If I were to go forced air I would have a shop that has installed that setup many times with an excellent customer satisfaction record. Of course one will pay top dollar for it.
You could do it yourself but have a shop lined up if you run into a problem you can't solve.
Well, I bought the majority of my stuff thru Tillmans. If I would have thought I could do it myself I would have gotten the blower from them too. But Chris is super cool and said if the dealership has any problem that they can call him for help.
They(dealership here) had no idea about the R2300/UDP/BAP set up for stock engine mustangs. The dealership quoted me 8 hours for install but chris said it should take closer to 12...but maybe thats with the BAP and UDP install...which I already have UDP installed and the BAP I'll be doing myself b4 I get the blower installed.
The dealership here hasn't done too many S/C installs...which has me contemplating. I got tons of spare time. hmmmm, what to do. I think I'll go get the installation instructions today for a read.

oh thanks, I had no idea that was there. i just went to the dealership where my kit is and asked them for the instructions. I guess I now know where to go if I lose them. Thanks

Me and my brother put his procharger on in one day. not really that bad. but if you are in doubt of yourself, let someone else do it.
And remember, its gotta be tuned after the install, unless it comes with some type of chip, then i would still suggest getting it tuned for your specific application

man dont let the install intimidate you. I'm an 18 year old kid and installed a procharger kit, new fuel pump, gauges, kenne bell boost a pump, and everything else that was necessary to compliment the supercharger myself. took me a couple of weeks because i had to keep waiting for parts but if you take your time and relax it's very straight forward.
do some reading and see if you can find an instruction booklet online for the type of kit you're interested in and read the whole install over a few times. you'll feel more confident.

Next summer looking to go with:
Bilstien shocks + struts, Lowering springs (brand still TBD (any suggestions?)), MM CC plates, front + rear sway bars, subframes, and upper and lower control arms.
Time to make the pony ride some rails
Me and acouple buddies installed my Whipple in roughly a day. We were BS'n, taking breaks for food, and had to run to the local auto parts store for acouple little things a few different times.. so I'm sure it could be done in less time.
Though I didn't have the IC or fuel pumps to do, so yours could take more. I should be able to give you a rough est on install time for them in acouple weeks.
