Exclamation 5.0 stereo issues?

Hey, I just rebuilt my 302 that was in my 88 5.0, I also converted it to MAF. But the issue im having is when just driving down the road, the stereo will shut itself off for about 10 seconds then come back on. Also when I open and close the door or hit a small bump. Its driving me crazy. But the other thing im wondering is does the EEC computer have anything at all to do with the stereo and its components?

Yea, loose wire, or cracked PCB inside the radio, it gets hot, shuts off, then cools, and comes back on.
Bump, and same thing, connection opens then closes.

Its a bad connection somewhere, could even be a bad fuse that isnt blown all the way through.

I have heard of people shorting out their Comp with a hot wire from the radio, but not the other way around, ever, hehe

No, It ended up being my ignition switch. The contacts were not seating correctly against the housing. Replaced contacts, tightend the housing and now works flawless.
