Yeah...turbo might have better gains but its a lot more money, a lot harder to install and all that stuff...S/C is a little more reasonable in price for me and is a bit easier on install and all that. I have a friend with a procharger and was thinking that route. Its like $3200.00 or something like that for the kit (S/C, intercooler, plumbing, etc.)

dude you can get a turbo kit for $3,900 and play with the boost and push better hp numbers. plus you don't syress the front of your crank as much, s/c are hard on the front of the crankshaft, also you will get better gas mileage and a harder pull. I was going to use a s/c but have converted to going with a hellion turbo kit.
I don't think you would be unhappy with the Procharger or the Vortech. I had a old P600b procharger that I ran for years 8 to be close that was problem free from day one till I sold it to a customer of mine who is still running it and has been for 3 years now and it is still trouble free all I can say is it has been a good one that's for sure.

if your looking @5-8lbs i would go vortech but if your looking @anything over 10 procharger has a really good set up.I have the old v1 with 10lbs and ilose serious hp once it gets heat soaked.but anyone is good with correct fuel and spark.the tune is what saves the motor from what everybody has told me.my fastest times or with fact. tune with btm and fmu but i would love to have a shop dyno-tune it but have yet to give up 800-1000 bucks they asking for a dyno tune around here.I slowed it down a second by tuning it myself.lol so i loaded fact. tune and left as i had it untill i get someone to tune it for me or it blows up.BOTH OR A GOOD CHOICE
how is it worse on the front of your crank. It still spins the same speed doesn't it. Just because your sc it turning at higher rpm doesn't mean your crank is. Vortech is becoming really popular. Best thing to do is google video or you tube and check out your car with that supercharger. I know that it is a lot easier to find vortech upgrade parts that procharger. Go to their websites and check out what they have to offer. warranties, % in horsepower gains etc etc. Good luck though.

Turbos don't have a belt pulled banjo string tight to keep it from slipping like a S/C does the super tight belt pulling on the crank is a draw back to a S/C and does cause wear on the front bearing and crankshaft. Our old set up was S/C when I took it apart to look at things the front main bearing was always worn more then the rest but it was a stock crank also. that is just one of the draw backs of a S/C set up compared to a Turbo set up.
