Default Spark plug gap on sc 302w/tfs heads

I have a 302 with tfs twisted wedge heads i am changing plugs and want to try best gap for the autolite.my others where at 42.what is best for max performance.does it pay to index plugs.I had a quarterhorse tuner on it and it would not run good after some time using it.so i removed it and have fact comp. back but my car feels down on power to me.also i get some bucking in 1st and second 2nd gear.my car use to idle perfect and drive excellent so im looking for a mech. problem that would cause these things also.my exaust sensors have never been changed i think i will replace them.I can feel surge in power under w.o.t.thanks guys

I would first start by checking the computer for codes. As for the gap on plugs i would contact trick flow on that even though i installed ngk plugs in mine with the factory gap for saleen plugs and didnt run into a problem with power. Im not sure how long it has been since you have done a tune up on the car but if your changing plugs i would recommend changing wires while your at it at the least, and cap and rotor just basic maitenence at this point. While your doing that take the mass air off and try cleaning it and drive it again to see if that gets rid of the surge during wot.

I would back the gap down to 35 for a starting point. ours are at 25 but we are still running a stock ignition. are you running a aftermarket ignition if so you may get by with more gap. How much boost you seeing? and you should step down in heat range with the S/C set up also. We are down 2 heat ranges.
