Turbochargers and downpipe heat shielding?

With my twin turbos, I'm having trouble with excess heat dumping from the downpipes and the feeding headers.

My two radiator hoses are approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the hot exhaust pipes. I've been using temporary aluminum tape as a shield, but just found a store with exhaust header wrap in stock.

I've heard the horror stories of wrapping headers and having them crumble after a year or two. What if I used the exhaust wrap on the radiator hoses to shield them from the downpipes?

I also have some wires and cables which I would like to wrap the header wrap around.

Using the wrap shield will help, but the best way is to have the pipes ceramic coated, that will keep the heat inside the pipes.

I agree with Rob. Coatings are the best way.

Mine have a military heat bearer coating on the inside as well as the outside with a ceramic coating on the outside. I did this mainly to keep the velocity up within the manifolds, but it also keeps the under hood temps down
