is it possible to do?? im considering getting one next spring, probably a 6lb kit for the 2200 you see in the magazines by vortech i think.. will it work... what else would i need to get thats not included in the kit... any insight is appreciated and what kinda power would you get out of a 6-7lb setup??
They will sell you a Fuel Management Unit (FMU) as part of the kit for SD cars that will increase fuel pressure with boost. They can be tuned to different fuel delivery rates (i.e. 8:1, 10:1, 12:1, etc) and you should do a dyno tune to get the best fitting FMU calibration.

well i talked to our local mustang guru and he has never done a SD car and said it would be very difficult to do unless it is converted over to mass air flow. He does blowers on all types of mustangs/sports cars and knows what hes doin so it looks like a supercharger will be too much money for me...
madmaxin22,
call another shop before giving up with your supercharger. I listened to one guy here in Dallas and took his word on a mod. When I asked another guy the price and the attitude were much different. Just because one guy says he can't do it, doesn't mean another can't. Good luck, I hope this helps. Let us know what you end up doing with the supercharger.

i have been considering putting a sc on my 88 vert. its speed density, and besides, for three years prior to mass air they were putting them on so how can it be all of the sudden impossible to do. my choice will be blowzilla because it still uses the stock lowerand there is not much modification to the set up. will let you know how it turns out soon.

I highly recommend you port or yopu get the stock lower ported to maximize the effect of the supercharger. The screw type charger would rather move air than make pressure, so the stock runners are pretty restrictive.

im not worrying about it since i cant find anyone that has an answer for sure... can this thread be moved to the power adders section,,, maybe someone knows there......
Actually you did get a definitive answer . Yes it will work . Like Tom said it will work . And like he said , you should get your stock intake ported or get a better intake . Either way , it will work .Another thing you should do before you install a supercharger is to upgrade your exhaust to a less restrictive one ( assuming your exhaust is stock )
