Unhappy How much damage did I do?

Just got back from the track and was checking my plugs. One had the ground strap melted half off and the insulator was blistered white. I told my mechanic about it and he asked me if I had changed the Boost retard setting from what he had it set to(which was 1 deg retard/psi boost). I said yes, I dropped it to zero retard to get a better run( and it WAS my fastest 11.8). He said, "DON'T DO THAT unless you're using racing fuel. You probably now have pits in your pistons and/or heads!!" Am I looking at an engine overhaul here? He gave me a set of Autolite Racing Plugs(AR3932) and told me to try them out and see how the car runs with them. I'm running about 9-10PSI of boost on a S-trim with a 2.95 pulley with TW heads. He said that if the plugs were hot enough to melt the strap, think of what it did to Aluminum(heads). Did I screw the pooch here? [Bummed out]

Most likely not..I did this several"and i mean several"times W? my N2O set up all it did was woof the head gaskets.I'd do a comp. check to check on thiongs

listen to your "engine guy" and do what he says or sometime you will be paying for it. if you dont know what your doing dont do it!!

Is the JMS chip also retarding boost? or at least increasing fuel accordingly?

Have you removed the plugs to inspect them?

9-10 psi is not that much, engine is probably ok but check compression and look for gasket failure.

I'd up your fuel pressure 5 to 10 psi.

Have you ever considered an intercooler???

Maybe alcohol injection?
