Default To juice or not to juice?

Hi ! I'm a new member and have read most of the posts and replies on the tech side and think the responses to most of the questions are genuine and very helpful. I wonder if I could get some advise on nitrous for my particular application?
My car is a 93 coupe with TFS heads(shaved 40 under & ported), Cobra intake(ported), 65mm TB ,75mm MAF, 24lb injectors and all the supporting equipment.
I'm thinking about adding a NOS kit of about 100HP,but have concerns about using nitrous with the stock hyperutechtic pistons and estimated 9.5:1 compression ratio.
My question is:
1) Is this asking too much of the stock block and internals at this horsepower level with the nitrous?

2) Should I even consider nitrous with the existing pistons?

3) Will I run into problems using nitrous with the elevated compression?

4) What NOS system works well with the 5.0L ?

I know when dealing with any power adders there are never any guaranties (especially nitrous). However, if anyone has had, or is using a setup somewhat simular to this one,or has experience using nitrous,I would really appreciate your advice.

Thanks; Stan

Nitrous and compression work well with one another, dont worry about that.

I would look into a NOS dry kit. A 100 shot will work fine on those pistons. Start small with a conservative tune and you'll be just fine.

Stock block and internals can handle the power you make with ease, including the 100 shot.

I say spray it.

The decision's been made and I'm going with the nitrous! Talking to others and reading the replys here has confirmed in my mind that my next mod will be a 100hp kit . I was leaning towards the Zex kit for a couple of reasons, one being the neatness and simplicity of installing this kit which I've been researching on there site. Some people have recommended that I also look into installing a fuel pressure cut off or a window or hobbs which to me sounds like good advice, but I see nothing about these items under the Zex's name and would like to know more about this safety equipment and if compatability will be a problem if this equipment isn't made by Zex. Thanks to all for your advice and opinions.

I think the Zex kit has a built- in feature that cuts nitrous if no fuel is being added. Not sure about that one though.

A window switch is a good idea. Allows you to control activation/deactivation of the system at pre set RPMs. Real nice feature for a 5 spd. Dont want to miss a gear and bang the rev limiter on N2O.

I LOve my NOS kit I spray 100 shot most of the time I've had no problems with my 95 Cobra. The Kit came with a hobb switch so it won't come if you don't have enough fuel pressure and it has the throttle switch so it comes on under WOT. I've even changed the jets to the 150 setting and had No problems..

You should also get one of those cool arming switches like off of "Gone in 60 Seconds". My friend got one from an electronics store online for about three dollars and it looks really cool and adds to the effect.

Zex solenoids are small, just like the ones that come with basic NOS dry kits, they won't support much more HP. I personally use and sell NX, its much better quality, noids are much bigger, and its a wet kit so you know you're getting enough fuel.
