Question paxton or procharger with 8-10 psi

I am in the process of trying to decide what type of supercharger to put on my 94 Gt and was wondering whether paxton or procharger was better for more money in the 8-10psi range and also which one would be easier to upgrade to more boost in the future???? any help highly appreciated thanks

i think the pro-charger is a little better as it comes with an intercooler, and is sef contained. (no tapping of the oil pan) but the install is probably harder as it goes on the driver side. would you be considering a novi 1000 or 2000?

a prohcarger D-1SC will max out at about 925 (assuming the motor is up to the task.)

i believe the Novi 2000 is good for about 900.

theres also powerdyne.. i've heard their pretty good with 5.0's.. i tend to lean towards vortech.... procharger is good too... paxtons break too much.. to much repair work with their blowers...

I've got the Procharger it's a decent unit, but the design of the 94-95 setup is retarded. If I could do it all over I would go with either Vortech or Paxton. Those units have a seperate 8 rib belt for the blower unlike Procharger which runs on the same 6 rib belt as the accesories (A/C, Water pump, etc.). Once again not a great idea to use the same belt that the motor uses, I've had one break on me already on the highway fortunately I had a spare to replace it. Sorry for the long thread I'm just giving you an FYI.

You definitely want to go with procharger. Tapping the out pan with it still in the vehicle is absolutely hairraising. I can take a picture of what was left over after tapping my pan and if any of it would have come off, it would have most likely destroyed my engine. If you are going to remove the oil pan to tap it thats another story, and I would suggest it. Paxton/Vortech has to have the worst customer service I've dealt with other than our first computer. They sent me the wrong chip first and it took 2 weeks to get that one after I was promised it in 3 days. Then I had to wait another week for the correct chip. I called them and asked if I could buy a new set of instructions and they said no they have none to sell that I would have to DL them from their site. I called Jegs and asked for a set, they called Paxton, and amazingly Paxton sent me one. I guess Jeg's has soem clout with Paxton.

My Paxton runs on my primary belt. I don't have a separate belt.
