Spray it til she blows, then spray her some more! 300hp shot of nitrous, eh? Any words of advice for a fellow member of the 302 Grenade Brigade? Are you running the stock short block?
Throw caution into the wind, you are the Man!
It is good to see not everyone uses the conservative advise of Holley/NOS tech team to use 150 hp and less. Ride her hard, break her and rebuild her. Now that's fun!
I just wanted everyone to know Fast1 is the MAN!

Can the stock short block last a reasonable amount of time between rebuilds? Are bent rods the main concern for running huge amounts (200hp+) of nitrous? Ok to rebuild shortblock with factory rods? I love the $180 price tag for a set of 8 new Ford Racing production 302 rods! Where is the smart money best spent on a bone stock '95 GT to run 200hp+ shots of nitrous? I was planning on ignition improver, nitrous management system, and better exhaust, just wanted to know if more serious hardware (cam, heads, main cap ties) is required.
Thanks!
Jamie

Head gaskets and lack of fuel are the main thing "atleast thats what i had probs w/"Like i said u should b safe if u get it tuned right and dont use it all the time..Like a bottle a dayI"d spend my $$ on good ignition, fuel system.
BTW what does ur car have done now to it???

My '95 Gt is currently bone stock. I have many outlandish plans, but I have found it is easier to ask questions, learn from others, before spending my green.
Did you use the NOS Big Shot Kit with your stock shortblock? How does the fuel system work, like is the fuel pump with the Big Shot 5.0 kit replace the intank pump or is it an inline pump?
I would like to create an intake much like the Comp Polymers Box, only have a vertical Throttle Body so I can create a shaker hood. Because of budget constraints, I will probably use the stock lower manifold. I figure why blow $300+ bucks on an intake manifold if the nitrous will do the job.
okay so i finally got my kit yesterday. its a stage 2 NOS kit. anyways what ignition products are a must? MSD 6AL? does that come with a rev limiter? what else do i need? i already have an AFPR and fuel pump? what do you exactly mean when you say tuning, are you just talking about the fuel pressure and the timing or is there more to it. THanks.
NITROUS = VETTE KILLIN TIME
With me, and a few other people on the board, the recommendation is the Crane HI-6S. Comes with a rev limiter, no pills to switch out..just turn a dial. Less expensive, Easier installation, no cutting and splicing. If you want to decide for yourself I wrote up a tech article with pictures... its my main selling point http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/328.shtml
As for tuning...you want to get enough air/fuel in there so that you dont detonate and blow gaskets or even a motor... timing, air, fuel, spark...its got to be good when you go with a power adder. Most times its better to run rich but you'll want it in tune for power.
hmmm, the crane looks like a good unit adam, ill probably end up going with it, is it compatable with a timing retard box from MSD, or does crane manufacture a timing retard box as well? how are the Crane prices compared to MSD. thanks bud
Crane has its own timing retard thing... sorry to sound unprefessional, but i cant get away to check it. its on cranes website www.cranecams.com
It plugs inline with the existing ignition box, and can run into the cabin near you where you can dial it as your drive. If i get a chance, ill get you a name and part number.
If you are really worried about the stock bottom end, install a main girdle suport. I ran a stock 302 block for 3 years with a main girdle, and also had the block cryogenically frozen to harden it. The motor produced just over 600 horse with a 200 shot. No problems. Even before stepping up to an R302 due to a fuel pump going belly up and the motor leaning out, although the aluminum heads needed work, the block could have been re-used again.
