Default Stock 5.0... Turbo capable??

I basically dont want to mess around when it comes to getting power, i know there are countless things i need to do to build a solid 5.0... but as far as just getting a huge increase in power goes, no questions asked...
Can a stock 5.0 be set up with a single, or twin turbo kit without any major mods??
Other then exhaust im sure... that would be a 10-4 on that.

Im talking somewhere in the range of 150rwhp gains, if thats even possible to begin with.
Any thoughts???

If you stay low boost levels and have a fresh motor and the right tune with enough fuel getting to the motor definatley capable.

Incon turbo kits bolt right on to the stock exhaust and are 50-state emissions legal. Without any other mods to the car other than the kit, you'll be in the 400 rwhp range...

My 91 LX with 8psi Incon Twins on stock engine put 335hp and 400lbs torque at the wheels. Should have been more but we found out it had blown the head gasket on #4. Not bad for 7 cylinders!

I bought new. Shipped to my door about $3900.00. Back when Incon was still around.

I still find the kits every now and then. I found three for members on this site.

I paid $4000 for a used kit (thanks to Tony!!!) but it included a few new parts. I've seen old Incon ads for a little less though. My kit has very few miles on it (1st owner used it for a month until his girlfriend wanted a new Cobra - the 2nd owner never installed it!!).

Hope this gives you a pricing range.

On paper it is round 725-750 at the flywheel. There is really only one way to tell for sure, dyno.

The kit is said to produce approx 30-35 horse per pound of boost depending on your setup. We fiqure on engine alone around 300hp, add 15psi gets us up around 750hp.

She is not running yet so time will tell?

Your welcome Craig! Glad to be of service!

I'm running a constant 12 lbs of boost on pump gas (91 octane) and as high as 16 lbs on 112 race gas. My motor has 170,000 miles on it. It has been turbocharged for the last 40,000 miles. I drive it everyday and the only mods to the motor itself are an F303 cam, and ARP head bolts. Aside from that it's completely stock (except the fuel system of course).

I'll agree though, it does take the right tune, and a good fuel system to make it all work. Not too difficult though.

Yeah they are gone, but the kits are still out there used. They are the only kit I know of that are smog legal. Plus having cast iron manifolds the Incon kit will last a hell-of-a-lot longer then those made with tubular steel headers.
