Talking superchargers and octane

When a supercharger is installed, do you need to use a higher octane gasoline to prevent premature combustion?

Thank You,
Ian

YES, definately.

Superchargers dynamically add compression to the engine, that generates extra heat and chances of detonation which will eventually can destroy your engine.

Using high octane gas is definitely a good thing to do. I always use a minimum of 93 octane. Just remember to have the car tuned to not only maximize performance but to keep it safe. My car has a nice safe tune, makes decent power, and is very streetable.

Thanks, I figured it would need extra octane, just didn't know the exact numbers.
