Default Great Oppurtunity...I think. Twin T3 Turbos.

My friend James has two Garrett T3 Turbos, one new and one rebuilt, with blow off vavles for $500.00. Or less. He said he just wants to get rid of them. I was promised a turbo last time but it got ran over.

I might just buy one. I don't know. I know I'll have to run under 10psi with the stock pistons but what else will I need. How should I run the headers, downpipe, exhaust system.

Need alot of help.

(By the way, '98 3.8L V6 5spd.)

There's a book called Maximum Boost, by Corkey Bell. It's quite possibly the most informative book you'll ever read. In fact, read it twice. Just buying a turbo your buddy has is not a good idea. You really need to properly size the compressor and exhaust housings for your application.

Well, I figure if i can get it for $100 bucks, the new one, and if doesn't work out, I can sell it and try again.

Think I found what you were talking about. The Turbomustangs.com Turbo Bible:

That's a good website. The book goes a little deeper into some subjects than what's on the website. The book also talks about superchargers too. It's worth the money IMHO.

I talked to him more about it today at lunch. He said they were for a Z.

We talked about putting one on his car first, and if it works, just swap it to mine.
