Default 04 Mach 1 w/ Vortech

Any opinions on this?

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/..._mach1_ho.html

Can the motor handle it with no mods? While it looks like gobs of power, the price makes my ass pucker. I don’t mind saving some cash to get the power, I am concerned about how well the motor will hold up and or if there is anything I should worry about. IE exhaust / ignition??

Sorry I come from the 5 liter days and never put much faith in a 4.6 of any nature. Problem is the new 04 Mach that is due for me next month is of course a 4.6 and I have no clue what parts are offered for these yet.

btw If/when ya read this give me a call Dale! And dont tell the wife I ordered this!

I would go for a Procharger if I were you (if your looking for a centrifigal blower). The compression is already pretty high on that thing. The intercooler that comes in the kit will help you out a lot as far as power and keeping the motor safe.

Is it stick or auto? The manuals have stronger internals then the autos do.

Procharger doesn't make a kit for the Mach utilizing the shaker yet. the only kit available is the Vortech which has just hit the market. It will come with a chip but you will still need to get a Dyno Tune on it after it is installed. The Mach has a Forged(5 speed), Cast(Auto) crank but cast pistons and rods.

Exhaust... remember anytime you increase flow either on the intake side or exhaust side you need to make the opposite end compatable. I would suggest if you want the full advantage of the S/C get the exhaust done. ie: X-Pipe and Cat-Back
