I'm thinking about putting a blower on my Boss302 motor. Has anyone done this before? If so what: cam profile, pistons, etc. I got a 408 I want to beat. (My brother)

Yes it's vintage 69 motor everything is there. .030 over steel crank -.010/-.010 Cam is .577 lift with 260/260 duration at .050 lift (nice lope but the unburnt gas from the overlap will run you out of the garage fast)
Heads are stock( no no-lead conversion) 2.23 intake and 1.71 exh

Yes, I agree!
I have seen Cleveland engines supercharged! They look great! A Boss 302 looks almost the same.
Oh, are you talking 6-71 blower or more like Paxton type blower. I think a 6-71 would be Boss! Get it? Boss, Boss 302? Ok, never mind. A 6-71 intake manifold would be hard to come by

I think I'd prefer the paxton style. As it would probably fit under the hood. I like the sleeper look. Also the big blowers look good on a big block. They seem too much for a small block. But there's nothing like 'em sticking out of a hood!

How much LSA is on it? If you tighten it up a bit there won't be as much overlap. Is it the original cam??

No, It's a cam that came with the motor when I bought it years ago. According to my old motor builder it's got .577 lift with a .260/.260 duration at .050 lift. Lobe angle wasn't figured. I have to pull the motor out as oil pressure drops ats RPMs increase (cam bearings) so I may check some new profiles. Perhaps start a thread to see what the rest of the guy's are running. Thanks for they reply
