Default Any1 using a remote bottle opener?

Hey folks,
I'm on the fence right now deciding if I should shell out 300 bucks to get one of these dohickies. Obviously I know the pro's to having one but are there any con's? Like getting stuck or not opening/closing all the way? Anyone have a particular brand they prefer?

On another note...anyone seen Zex's new purge light? It emits a bright color beam into your purge. I think it could either look really cool or look very ricey. Not sure on that one

I've just installed the zex auto opener, but I don't have enough experience with it yet. It works great with the limited amount of time I've played with it during instalation, but the true test is in time I suppose. But so far so good! $300 is too much, I picked a new one up on e-bay for a total of $300 Canadian and this is including shipping and duty. Have a look on e-bay and maybe you'll find someone who didn't quite finnish their project and is now looking to unload one.

hey coupe93

I was just generalizing on the price. I usually always get my stuff on ebay..cheaper and fun I just remember reading a couple posts where people said their remote openers would not open their bottles all the way. I wanted to see if it was a common thing or isolated incident. Drop me a PM when you get some good use out of the opener.

What I really hate is opening the bottle every day and then closing it without getting a chance to use it. It irks me to think that I keep wasting a little bit when it fills up in the lines. But I know that the day I leave it closed is when a Vette is going to pull up next to me and wants to go for a little spirited run.

I'm waiting for the rest of my parts to arrive then I'll start putting it to the test. I'll be installing a guage and purge kit early next week and I'm looking for a bottle warmer kit still. Once I've got it all installed I'll use the system more frequently with a couple of planned trips to the track. Traction with street tires are a real problem as I might of guessed. On the spray in third gear I'm losing the Goodyear's, but it's still a little cool outside(60 deg.) and at the track I'll be using better tires. So far the remote opener is working great! I'll Keep you informed.

i had heard the N.O.S. openers were causing surging problems.
i would recomend ethier the NX or the ZEX openers.

Thumbs up

I've put the Zex opener to the test many times now and it's worked great. I've removed it and reinstalled it numerous times during refills and have had zero problemo. Seems like a good piece so far!!!!
