I'm getting belt dust in the engine compartment and can hear the belt squeal right after I let off the throttle after hammering it. I have the idler pulley on snout bracket turned as far as possible and the tensioner is pretty tight as well. Anything else I can do? Currently running 6#'s and have a 115.25" Gates belt.

It that an automatic tensioner or is it not? If it's a manual tensioner, get a shorter belt and tighten it some more. If it's an automatic tensioner try a slightly shorter belt, if that doesn't work, change the tensioner.
Cant he also buy ribbed belts for extra grip? or is that just for the cobras and other supercharged vehicles? I know Metco has got the x-10 belt drive ? Just a suggestion, pick me apart if you must

How do you apply the VHT, to the belt itself? I read a little on it in the last MM&FF but wasn't clear on it. I heard something about cutting notches in the pulley? Anyone know what that entails? Is it just the SC pulley or others?

I read some stuff on that x-10 pulley for the chargers and it got some good results. But as far as the problem at hand, you might want to consider researching differant rubber compounds of belts to see if you can find a more friendly belt. IMO

VHT Trackbite may be a good idea. All you would have to do is brush a little bit of it on there while the car is running... Well that's what I would do.
