Default 1st time to the track with my turbo.......

My 1st time at the track with my new turbo was basically street trim, 93 octane, 15* base timing pulling 1* per lb, BFG drag radials and only 7 lbs of boost. (still waiting on my boost controller)

2.0 60ft 11.83 @ 117
not too bad i guess. i'm eventually going to run 12lbs.

Not a bad time! Not bad at all! By the looks of your 60ft time, you need to get a little more heat in those drag radials.

Just curious, why do you want to run a boost controller? I've heard from LaMotta and Lingenfelter they have not found one that works worth a damn. I bought a Greddy controller, but after talking to them I don't think I'll run it.

I see you want to run with 12 psi. On a stock block I wouldn't run over 8psi turbo boost unless you want to split your block.

There's what I'd be concerned about too.

Btw, good start! With just a bit of practice, you'll prolly be in the .50's with no other changes.

Thanks guys, Almost everyone uses boost controllers on turbomustangs.com and turbobuicks.com to raise the boost a little.
I ran 12 to 14 lbs of NOVI boost for a little over a year with no problems, Do you think the low-end turbo torque will create a problem ?

Thanks alot, Frank

Are those all single turbo? What I was told is that they had troubles with several different boost controllers not reacting fast enough, but that was with a twin setup. Maybe that has something to do with it, I'll ask.

That is a nice kit. I went to there site. That wastegate they use, can you adjust it or get a different spring to up the boost?

The stock block is prone to cracking between the cam and mains in boosted apps. The torque forced induction creates is a big strain on the stock block. Turbo creates torque alot sooner than S/C
