What brand of supercharger is that? I'm not familiar. I have a procharger P1-SC... P1 is just the model of the head unit, SC means "self contained." If I knew brand I could point you to the website that would have specs on it. Or to the company that would be able to give you more information.

Default Boost Questions

I Just Bought A Ford Gt-40 Crate Motor(345hp) And I Was Considering Going With The Vortech Supercharger, But I Was Wondering Would 8-10psi Be Too Much For Those Hyper??? Pistons Or Should I Stick Withe The A-trim And Just Change The Pully So It Puts Out 6-8psi. If Someone Could Pm That Would Be Great

As long as the tune is safe, and you run the right octane fuel, I don't see a problem. I would be more concerned about the block splitting or rods bending. I don't know if that motor you bought has an SVO block or not. If it's a stock block, when you reach about 500 hp the block tends to split down the middle.

i woulnt trust hypers with a 8 to 10 pounds of boost on them they will eventually break thats why those crate motors are junk with the hyper pistons. I mean ive heard of people having them in motors and they hold up then ive heard they arent worth having. But id take a forged piston over a hyper anyday espcecially in a higher boost level. good luck with keeping it together.

I have a GT40 iron head crate motor (bought 1995) with a Vortech sc-trim that I got around 2003. So far it is holding up fine. I switched to the 8-rib 9psi kit this summer. Makes about 8-10 psi depending on the temperature. That is spinning it no where near it's max impeller speed, still more left in this blower with a larger crank pulley. If you haven't bought the crate motor yet I would say go with a forged crate motor from one of the many available out there. Cost is close to the same and you'll have a little more forgiveness with the tune than with the hypers.

What'd you pay for that crate motor, if you don't mind my asking?

Oh, and whoever posted the orignal post, I have always seen SC referring to SuperChargers.
