Question Supercharger for my 66'?

I have a 66' straight six 200CI ... is there any cheap power adders or even any expensive ways of boosting my speed ... any superchargers made for back then .. thanks

To the best of my knowledge no one makes a kit for the straight six. The problem with the 170 and 200 is the head. The intake manifold is cast as part of the head, so it can't be changed without some major machine work. The stock head and intake flow like crap. You could probably fab up a turbo setup for it with very little difficulty, but the biggest problem is going to be fuel delivery. There's not much you can do with the stock 1 bbl carb.

you can turbo your mustang 6 cyl. you can use the original exhuast manifold or design your own. you need to design an adapter plate for but but it has been done before. the autolite 1100 cabr top makes for a great connection for a piece of 2 1/2 in hose from the turbo. the hardest part would be to mount the turbo. the fuel starvation situation can be fixed by boosting the stock fuel pump. it can handle minimal boost like 4 psi. but you drill a hole into the intake side of the fuel pump there are directios for this. attach a peice of vacuum hose and that has been boost referenced .the othe end of the hose can attach to your carb bonnet as long as it wont blow off. the oil lines for the turbo are also simple. you need a T for the oil pressure sneder attach brake line fromt here to the turbo. then you can run the lines back into the oil pan or into the top of the valve cover. also be careful anything to big will take to much to spool the turbo and anythign to small will spool up to quick . people are using the turbos off of a grand national from buick. or a T3.

supercharging is different. you can mount it where power steering would go or where the alt is and move that. any who it seems the best is the centrifical type of blower. also with the carb it has to be a blow through type. you will need to cut off the choke horn (most people with compressed air power adders dont us one anyway) and epoxy the holes you also need a nitrophil float so it doesnt compress under pressure. back to SCing this is a bit easier. jus tmounting is the problem. then plumbing is easy use pvc or whatever make sure it is tight and secure. but once againmake sure you get enough fuel bc if it gets lean say goodbye to your pistons.
