your best cam is the stock cam for a mustang...........if you go to crower cams, they have a cam grind that is made just for our turbo'd car's...........

I agree with the stock cam. I'm running the stock cam with 1.7:1 roller rockers in my 337 twins. If you have to change cams try to get one with at least 10deg more duration, .010 more lift on exhaust side. No less than 114 lobe seperation

I talked with a rep from DSS today and he told me I could run any kind of cam I wanted too, see the thing is I want the rough idle that comes with a big cam, but have heard differntly to use the stock or smaller cams with a turbo, whats the correct answer?

You can run a different cam; just follow what I said before. Your cam choice has allot to do with what rpm range you want to run. Your rpm range is going to depend on what turbine housing is on the turbo. If you put a cam in that runs in the upper rpm range and your turbine housing is designed to run in the lower rpm range then you will run like crap or worst, melt down your turbo.

It’s not as simple as “running what ever cam you want” Decide on an rpm range, where you want your power, then choose a cam/turbo combo for that rpm range. Are you using a turbo kit or building a system? If a kit, ask the manufacture of the turbo kit what they recommend.

Incon, may they rest in peace, dyno’d over 600 rwhp with a stock cam! I personally would rather have it run great as opposed to having it sound thumpy. My 91 with stock 5.0 and 8lbs boost sounded bone stock, I think even quieter than stock, but had one hell-of-a punch to her
