Default supercharger question?

I just put my powerdyne 9psi supercharger kit on my 95 5.0 yesterday, and as I was driving it yesterday and today I noticed that the temp. gauge is really high. On my temp. gauge it has "normal" writin on the gauge under normal drviving conditions the temp is between the "m and a" and when I jump on it the needle will make its way to the "L". Is this normal behavior because of the extra pullies? If not what is wrong?

The Sn95 5.0s are notoriously "high-temperature" runners, the problems are basically 2:

a small radiator & small front facia openings

My suggestion is DONT RISK it and get a good replacement radiator, 3 core replacements are available from fluidyne.

Also get some "pusher" fans and install them at the FRONT of the A/c condenser (a/c rad). This will work together with the stock fan.

There is no other way to get the temperatures down.

Ah..and install a TRUE temp gauge, i have an Autometer Mechanical gauge..always reads the right temperature.

Also, if your guage reads more than the m in "normal" don't get on it! Your just asking for detonation.

I called powerdyne today they told me to run a 160 thermostat. So this morning I put one in and it ran fine today it was between the "O" and the "R" on normal. My question is should I still just be safe and put in the 3 core replacment or is it fine where it is?

With more power comes more heat. Get a better radiator! Plus make sure all the plastic air diverters in front of the radiator are in place including the radiator cover on top. You want to make sure what air gets in goes through the radiator and not around it!

Also, the fan is programmed to come on way too late (around 210). If you get some tuning done, make sure they lower the temp for the fan.
