Default Nitrous on a 4.0L SOHC - Expert Opinion Please

I've posted in the S197 and V6 pages, but no replies. So I'll try here.

Can nitrous be put on an '06 4.0L SOHC V6? The tech sheet says it has aluminum pistons. Can you use nitrous with aluminum?

The only kit I've found online is a 25hp - 50hp dry kit from DynoTune, and it is advertised for a Ford 4cyl or 6cyl, so it's not specific to the 4.0L. It also says the factory computer will compensate for the nitrous if you spray it across the MAF. Is that reliable, or asking for big trouble?

Thanks in advance. I've always wanted to try nitrous, but I'll need some guidance.
