i just bought a 1984 mustang LX w/ the 2.3 sohc engine. i have a buddy who has a 2.3 turbo out of a SVO sitting around behind the shop, how much work would this be to convert into a turbo if i have all manifolds, the turbo itself, intercooler, ect...?

Not too much to do. Use a different intercooler, get one up front and do some plumbing. I have had a few svos. They are great. Now there is a ton of stuff available for it. I get a comp cams cam and put it in a reman. head on my last. What an inexpensive way to get some power. Snowperformance has a alcohol injector that can use windshield washer fluid that is kinde neat, works well too as far as intake charge temp. In the swap the exhaust is not going to line up but I paid twenty bucks a piece for summit mufflers (3 in.) and got a three in. downtube and had the reast fabricated in three in. for five hundred bucks. The tailpipes were 2 and a half because the shop could not get the three in. tu go over the axel w/o rubbing. The 84 svo had a 3.45 and somewhere they went to the 3.73 rear. I liked the 3.73, was very versatile. Even w/mods I got good mileage. Check svoca.com. Load of info there.
