Question i need some advice

i have a 92 mustang lx and i want to upgrade my stock engine to atleast a 400hp and hopefully put a blower on it comming out the hood. is there any way i can either do that through supercharging/turbo charging, or getting a new engine? my budgett is only about $1,000.00 so any advice on how i can do this for cheap will be helpfull..
thanks
p.s. any other mods that are cheap that you know of would also be helpfull

for $1000 I'd be looking at headers and free flowing exhaust second hand intake & 4barrel carb and a nice cam

$1,000..... What about a set of 3.73 or 4.10 gears ? They don't give you HP but they will make you quicker off the line. They only cost $189 plus install. Then get a set of under drive pulley's which will free up a few HP as well.

Otherwise save some more $$$$$ and get 70mm TB, intake, heads, cam and headers.
