Default Can u get a whoosh sound with a blower?

I was looking at superchargers and acc. and I saw different bypass valves and stuff you can get, is there anyway to put a bypass valve (or blowoff valve?) so that it makes that whoosh a turbo makes when letting off the gas? I reeeally like that sound and I dont wanna go turbo for my 05.

Yes if you blow the air into the atmosphere.

My procharger would make a "whoosh ta ta ta ta ta" sound when I let off the gas... That's the best way to describe it. That was with a bypass valve. If I vented it to the atmosphere I bet it would have been louder.

sweet I love that sound. I was talking to my friend who is attending wyotech and he said that if you vent it into the atmosphere it will perform like crap untill u get a new MAF....any idea if this is true on the procharger or vortech (most likely going with prochrager) i might even leave it like it is from how you described it. (oh can u use a normal turbo blowoff/bypass valve that vents into the atmosphere or can u modify the current one)

Thanks in advance guys this place rocks!

The Bypass is before the MAF on the procharger. It is a blow through system. I don't see how it would effect the MAF. It wouldn't effect it because the air isn't being metered yet.

Cool beans, He hasn't seen the new 05's on person yet so he was probably speaking in general. So how would I vent the boost into the atmosphere? Sorry im a forced induction virgin here

You would have to cap off where the bypass bypasses to then just let the bypass vent to the open air... I want to warn you that it will be extremely loud.

just keep in mind that you can't vent metered air into the atmosphere. the computer has already accounted for that air and if you vent it off, you're gonna run really rich

I just put an intercooler on my mustang with a vortech and now when I rev high I get a "whoosh-ta-ta-ta" like Mana was talking about.
