With 18psi i think you will need to upgrade at least to forged pistons, also the fuel pump and injectors, and definately a good chip with a dyno tune.

The stock hyper pistons dont last much with that kind of boost.

You are going to blow up your car!

18psi?
heads?
cams?

What kind of HP are you trying to achieve? General rule is 400rwhp is about the limit with stock block

The block is fine. It's the hyperuetectic pistons and cast crank & rods that are the weak point. I think 750 is the limit on a stock block. Definitely get a forged bottom end and high quality valves. I'd be worried that the temperatures that kind of boost will create would cause the stock valves a short and untimely death.

I was referring to the stock short block.

Yeah me too. Stock blocks are perfectly fine until ~750 or so.

I guess I wasn't clear enough. Stock short block = stock rods, pistons, crank, not just the block itself

crank is good to ~600-650, the rest is crap and will not hold up to 18 psi+head/cams

If your talking about the block itself, 750 is fairly acurate. I've heard of several splitting before that though

Do you think I should stick with what I got for psi and go with more motor mods, or crank up the psi.
