Default Decide on blower

It's time to buy a blower. So far the best deal I've been able to find is on a full on kit from JMSchips. Vortech blower, Ford Racing injectors, SCT Flash tool, new MAF, etc. Complete Kit for approx. 150 RWH, priced at around 3700$. I've done quite a bit of research, and I believe the procharger seems to be the best, but cost about 800$ more.
Anyone know anything about the V2 SQ S-Trim? Or a cheaper place to buy a procharger?

Thanks for the info. I've still been looking, and RPM outlet has a procharger kit for about the same (3700). From all I've found so far, procharger is better and easier to install and maintain. Texas Hot Rods also has the Saleen series IV pretty cheap.

Go vortech. Roughly same power numbers. vortech is a non intercooled kit while a procharger is. Procharger comes with one because it runs hotter.

Get a vortech. get the optional intercooler and you will be fine.

Plus JMSCHIPS is good people. Monty and Chris are 2 of the most knowledgeable people I have ever meet. Their entire staff is. But firsthand :thumbsup

Thanks for the info- I have called JMS chip, and they were really easy to talk to. I'm still shopping, and have actually found the procharger at around 3500$. The thing I really like is not having to punch a hole in the oil pan. Everyone I've talked to says it's no big deal, but I don't care to tap sheetmetal then hope it never goes bad. Otherwise, all the information I've seen shows the vortech to be as good as the procharger.
I've also talked to Procharger, and they recomend 10-12 psi because I live at 7000 ft, and this also scares me. If I go to a lower altitude (which I do pretty regularly) Then I could have to much. They didn't seem to worried about it.

The oilpans are steel... When you tap the hole you use silicon or JB weld the fitting into place. I had an S-trim on my 94 GT for 100K miles (@12psi)and it NEVER leaked from the pan. I would go Vortech all the way. Prochargers are nice once you step UP from the P1SC. Everyone I know that has had a Procharger has either gone away from them or had oil leaking problems from the units themselves. Both setups will make about the same power(Even the vortech will make about the same power (About 20hp less) non-intercooled.)

As far as running that much boost, It should not be a problem. That is why the are intercooled. If it is warmer at the lower altitude then boost will not rise or lower much and it should make much of a difference. Just make sure you know what detination is and know to back out of it if you hear it.

Either way your car WILL make loads more power.

What year/model is your car? I just purchased the Procharger kit from RPMOutlet on friday. They seemed to have the most complete kit, and everytime I called them they were very helpful. I really wanted the Kenne Bell, but Procharger was my second choice. Look at Corral's classifieds under mod motors, there's a shop selling a Vortech kit with the aftercooler for $3500. I came really close to buying it, but the cost would have been about the same after buying the battery relocation kit, plus I wanted an SCT tuner with my kit which RPM provided. Only downfall is they send the order off to ATI and have them build the kit (so they say) and that takes 2-3 weeks. I'll keep you posted as to how the rest of my experience with RPMOutlet goes, so far so good though!

BTW, that kit from JMS in non-aftercooled, which I've seen for much cheaper. I like the fact that it comes with the MAF and spark plugs, but is that really worth the extra $$$? I don't think so.
