i just installed the P1sc stage 2 with a 10# pulley in my 01 gt. i didnt get a chip with the kit. the tuner said the car would run well enough to get it to his shop, if i had a lmaf with my 42# injecters. so i put on the lmaf. when i started the car it ran extremely rough and blew a dark gray smoke but it ran. by the time i got to the end of neighborhood it quit running and the smoke turned black. my question is dose this sound like i fouled the plugs or something else. th eplugs were new ngk's. will a tune fix it or sould i look deeper thanks for any info.

As long as the smoke isn't white, you're generally ok.
You have a rich mixture, with black smoke. I wouldn't drive it a LOT like that, but it should be ok to get to the shop.

Get it to the shop and have the tune done as soon as you can. Might want to try the stock MAF just to see how it does for the drive over there.

i pulled all the plugs and no sign of detanation but they are black they were new plugs the car ran about 20 min max. so im hoping that is a good sign the moter is fine im going to get the tuner to burn me a chip to get it there. ill keep posting when i find out
You can swap to the stock injectors and MAF in 30 minutes or less. Would be able to drive it without problems until you get to the shop. Bit more time but you will get there
i thought that lmaf is cal'ed for 42# injecters. i found a new tuner. the old one never answered my phone calls and never had time to help me. ive also heard some bad things about him. im going for a programer instead of the flip chip. i hope that is the smart thing to do. a lot more pricey but they allways say you get what you pay for. boy i hope this supercharger is worth it. it has been a pain in my but so far. well it maybe the old tuner. thanx for all the help. ill keep posting
"calibrated MAFs" are kinda BS, they never work as they should, the only TRUE way to make larger injectors work OK is by changing the EEC program and feed into it the MAF transfer table. Even then you can have problems, just recently i installed a P1SC with 2 core IC and 42Lb Lucas injectors, one of the injectors was stuck open (damn british tech) and the car wouldnt run (using XCal2 Tuner).
Went back to the stock EEC calibration and stock injectors. Client is still waiting for Ford 42lbs injectors but he can still drive the car.

when i put lmaf im referring to a lighting mass air. is the problem with the mass air some thing i can fix with a programer. to get it to the tuners. if not im going to tow it. im trying not to tow it because it is lowered with ground effects. towing is a pain in the but. but you got to do what you got to do. thanx
i just installed a vortech on my car with #42's and a lmaf but it wouldnt run either, it needs to be tuned via the eec. i tried to drive mine without a tune and i fouled 4 of my plugs, and they were iridium, i would recommend putting stock injectors and maf and driving it there and swapping there, it takes max 20 minutes to swap injectors and maf. and then just push it up on the rollers. because until the eec recognizes there are #42's it will run all rich
