Default Cold air kit w/a Kenne Bell?

Ok, I need some input on my dilemma. I have the mods in my signature. I have a few questions.

My current 80mm Pro-M is attached to the angled portion of my original MAC cold air tube that connects directly to the throttle body. It more or less hangs in the area where the stock airbox was. It has a stainless steel fan wash shield around the air filter element.

1. Will going to a 90mm LMAM and/or a 4" mandrel bend cold air intake tube net any decent power gains? KB says that "bigger is always better." What are your experiences?

2. Down the road, I plan on putting a Flowzilla intake on it and dropping in a built 306. Will I run out of air flow capacity if I stick with the 80mm Pro-m?

3. Please give me some feedback on your experiences with the Anderson Power Pipe. That would hook right up to my 80mm Pro-m. Any pros/cons to the air filter and mass air in the fender? Any installation challenges?

Thanks for the help!
Jim

When it comes to supplying a blower with air, bigger is most definitely always better.

The biggest con to putting the MAF in the fender is the wiring has to pass in there also. I don't know how much length you have on your 95, but the harness on my 04 was quite stretched. Stretched so hard that I cut a wire and grounded the ECU out and blew that fuse. If you have the resources, definitely upgrade to a 90mm MAF before the 306 goes in.

Bigger is Always Better, I have a Similar set up. I believe the only changes that I have is Edelbrock Aluminum Heads ( 1.94 ? I think as the 2.02 would not fit. I would like to get this vehicle to over 500 RWHP do you have any advise???

Similar setup as in what exactly? The easiest way once you're blown is to just increase the boost. I think at 14psi and a good free flowing intake and exhaust, the KB should easily make over 500 rwhp. Of course you're begging for trouble with that much boost on a stock bottom end GT.

You may want to read what KB says about "cold air kits".

Yeah I read that whole tech and FAQ section when I decided to get a KB myself. I love how they kinda downplay the effectiveness of a CAI, but market one themselves.
