Default Electric Superchargers?

Im pretty new to supercharging so was looking on eBay to find some deals.
Apparently they have electric superchargers that use an electric blower to force air into the engine. They're considerably cheaper but are they worth the money?

No. Most of them are nothing more than bilge blowers out of boats. You'd be lucky to get 0.5 PSI of manifold pressure at low RPM. The falloff by high RPM would render it useless.

Let's put it this way, the turbine in a centrifugal supercharger or a supercharger spins at over 100,000 RPM. The fastest I've seen spec-ed on any of the others is roughly 26,000 RPM. It's just not spinning fast enough.

Another thing to remember is that those units dont compress air like a supercharger/turbo does, all they do is basically....blow air.

You'd probably have more power gains by hooking a shop air compressor into your intake than from that.

actually I dont know where the video is but I saw someone gaining something like 90-120 wheel hp by sticking a leaf blower in the intake and spraying NOS through the leaf blower while it was on the dyno it's was honestly hilarious
