Supercharger on high mileage engine

I have a 98 cobra motor with about 115,000 miles on it. I want to supercharge it now. I am very concerned because of it's high mileage. Has anybody ever done something similar to this or should I look into rebuilding the motor or getting a new one and starting over?

A 115k mile car is not that old if it has been taken care of. You can supercharge it, no problem, just follow the rules, start with a base kit, have it tuned and take care of the cooling, exhaust and fuel system.

Have the car dyno tuned. The chips provided with SC kits are "basic".

Do a compression check on all cylinders. If the results are consistent across all cylinders; and you're holding decent compression, you should be fine.

A compression test will give you minimal information. You need to have a leakdown test done on that motor to get any real feel for what's up in there. Also, check into having an analysis done of the oil you drain out the next time you change the oil.
