I'm doing a complete overhaul on my 5.0...going to 331 wiht many goodies...next fall (2007) gonna add a supercharger....what is the best bang for the buck? any suggestions welcome!
Thanks!
I have a V6 with an Eaton M90. I think this has a much more acceptable sound than the Procharger or the Vorthech. My brother inlaw has a vortech on his 5.0, and that MF screams. I would recomend a roots system to anyone.
I'd definitely recommend a Kenne Bell kit for an motor with that much displacement. I think you'd be incredibly pleased with those results.

We have a Paxton SN92 on our 93 Cobra, it sounds great.....got a little whine....not bad at all, it really sound pretty cool.
Not long after I met my husband he took me to the local 1/4 mile track and it was incredible, he barely hit 3rd gear before he had to shut it down, too much for such a short track. I totally love it, all I know is that flippin car hauls!!! Can't keep the wheels on the ground. (One of these days we'll get around to some suspension work on it)
Best of luck in your selection.

I think Stonecold meant to say that the roots type blowers are the most efficient. They have a volumetric effciency rating approaching 90%. That also means they generate more heat. If you go with a roots/whipple (kenne bell) blower, be prepared to modify the cooling system to deal with the added heat. That said, I love my Kenne Bell. My car is a daily driver and the torque is a definite plus after 10-12 hour days. It's allot of fun to drive and except for the added gauges, it looks totally stock. Occaisionally someone will pick up on the slight whistle that can be heard at a stoplight.

Actually, Stonecold is right that the roots/whipple theoretically produce less heat; I had it backwards. The more efficient a blower, the lower the air exit temps. But, in reality, the KB generates allot of heat, probably as a result of its position sitting on top of the engine replacing the upper intake. I've added a fluidine radiator, the meth injection for its cooling quality, and a switch to manually turn on the fan. That has helped me solve the increased temps I noticed with the kb.

The Roots, (Eaton, Lyshom, etc.) produces the most heat, The Twin screw, (Kenne Bell, Whipple) is more effecient and produces even less heat, the Centrifugal (Vortech, Paxton, Pro-charger.) even more so.
There is a great article here http://www.superchargersonline.com/ explaining in great detail there advatages and disadvantages as well as history. Just scroll towards the bottom of the screen, look towards the right and read "Superchargers A-Z"
I went ahead and added an '03 Cobra radiator to deal with the extra heat and no problems through the hottest part of the summer. Definitely get an intercooled kit if at all possible for any kind of forced induction.
