Question How much nitrous can a 3.9L take and how safe on the engine?

Hello everyone. Has been a while since I posted on AFM, never before on v6 I think. My neighbor just got his daughter an 04 3.9L v6 mustang. I have a nitrous it I am selling, it is for 4/6 cylinder engines. He is considering buying it, but He wants to know how much nitrous a 3.9L can hold and how safe it is on them engines? Thanks for help in advance.

Generally a 75 shot is safe for all, but the 01 + engines are said to be able to take a 100 shot due to increased webbing and cap strength.

Its not the webbing in the block you have to worry about , Its stock pistons. Stock pistons have no tolerance for a High A/F (Lean condition) You can run a 75 wet shot but it needs to have a really good tune on it , a fuel pump up grade and about 2 stages colder plugs . Also if you haven't done anything to the rear yet this would be a good time to get that done as well especially if it is a 5 -speed . Nitrous adds a pretty good shock to the rear, this is more true with sticky tires .

Isn't it also a good idea to use synthetic oil when running nitrous?

OK. The kit is a wet shot. The car is automatic.
