Default vortech v1 s-trim boost question

Hello,
I purchased a '93 Cobra from my brother a couple of months ago. It has a Vortech V1 s-trim supercharger. I just installed a boost gauge and found out that I am making five pounds of boost at high RPM. The crank pulley is about 6.5" and the supercharger pulley is about 2.75". My question is, what kind of boost should I be making with this set up? According to Vortech's website my impeller speed at 6000 RPM would be around 49K. What is the redline on this supercharger? Is it making the boost it should? Could I go to a smaller pulley? Thanks for any help.
Roger

The max impeller speed is 50,000 ,according to the information you gave it is now turning 48927.RPM . If you put on a 2.69 pulley you would be at max RPMS for the blower 50018.59. You would only gain about 2 psi with that pulley, but you will be well outside the efficiency range of the blower as well. You really need a bigger blower like a procharger D-1
it's intercooled and is capable of making big numbers .

Thank you for the reply. So, I am almost maxed out on this supercharger as far as impeller speed goes. That's kind of what I figured with the pulleys as they are. I am still wondering if I am making the right amount of boost though. I plan to have the vaccum lines replaced and see if I get a pound or two more from that. I am pretty sure the s-trim is rated for 15 lbs. of boost. Of course I wouldn't push it that far. But, couldn't I get 8 lbs. with it? I have heard of 5.0's with an A-trim making more than 5 lbs. of boost. Since I have an S-trim I would think 8 lbs. would not be hard to get. I am not able at this time to upgrade to a bigger blower.
