Default Eaton M90 Supercharger from 91 T-Bird

Now I have heard in the past that these can be fabricated to fit the mustang 3.8L. I was looking around e-bay and I found a few of these and it made me curious as to what all would be needed to apply it to a 99-04 v6? Also I was wondering if it would have negative effects on the motor being that it wasn't made for it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...spagenameZWDVW

Not seriously looking to buy, just looking for some info.
Thanks

you would absolutely need the heads from a pre-99 car. Additionally, you'd probably have to have thet Eaton rebuilt.

You "should" also pick up the rotating assembly from the SC engine.

All in all, after you do all the work you'd only have 225 hp, which you can pick up with bolt ons with the more modern heads.

the only benefit would be the 315 ft/lbs of torque, but for all teh money, time and expense, you could pick up a centrifugal unit that would blow the eaton away.

My uncle wanted to do this swap on his 95 but after he found out how involved it is I believe he decided against it. Heres a site I found that lists all componets needed. This should shed some light on your situation hope it helps! Roots blower how to - V6Power Messageboard

I thought it would only work with the pre 99' heads but I wasnt sure; that was what i was really trying to figure out. Thanks.

i noticed how much easier it was to purchase the whole motor and go from there, because if you rebuild the motor and the drop the whole thing in the stang.... it seems alot easier. hell i picked my motor up from a friend for 50 bucks.... but it was a big ordeal of buying the whole car then selling it after i pulled the motor and trans to a guy i met on SCCOA. but hell 50 bucks you cant beat that.... so far i think i have about 200 dollars into it...

umm the 89 tranny is too old.... its just a AOD mine is a AODE.... i heard the trans would set off a bunch of codes and im guessing it wouldnt run right....

i also heard it shoudl bolt right in..... hopefully....i dont know exactly but from what i have heard the trans will bolt right up.... but i think i will blow the trans i have in there if i keep it for that motor... i heard the SC trans have more clutch material because of the more torque..... but im not sure about all of this info because it has been awile sence i researched it....

when and if i install this motor im proll going to put the trans from a 95 GT.... or i was looking into the 6speed from the cobra but thats like 1500 just for the used trans....

That's cheap, in my book. I spent that on my tranny 15 years ago . . . for a bulletproof tranny with a lot of room for expansion -an understressed tranny is a very good thing. So is the extra gear . . .
